The famous one, and the biggest night market in Tainan: close to 400 stalls across a huge lot in the North District, split into food, fashion, goods and games. If you only do one Tainan night market and your night lines up, make it this one.
Friday was added to its schedule in October 2025, so it now runs Thursday to Sunday. It gets very busy, and at its peak you'll spend as much time shuffling as eating. For a calmer night, Dadong and Wusheng are smaller and easier to walk. Newer food rows (rows 3 and 4) have been added as a food street.

Where people point
The stalls food writers and the city's own guides name most, with the most-mentioned first. Stalls move between markets on different nights, so where a source gives days, we include them. Look for the name on the sign.
- 二師兄古早味滷味. Old-style braised snacks, including chicken feet and three-cup sticky rice blood cake (三杯米血).
- 統大碳烤香雞排. A chicken cutlet fried, then finished over charcoal with sauce.
- 紅妃香腸大腸. Taiwanese sausage and sticky rice sausage stir-fried with basil; the sign says 45 years. In the middle of the market.
- 春粿面 白糖粿. Fried sticky rice sticks rolled in sugar.
- 延記臭豆腐. Crispy stinky tofu with pickled cabbage. At Garden on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday; the stall also works Dadong.
- 陳大民麻辣鴨血. Spicy duck blood and intestines in a numbing broth.
- 東東拔絲地瓜. Candied sweet potato with the glossy sugar pull.
- 三代香酥鳥蛋. Quail eggs, fried then baked until crisp.
Good to know
- Bring cash. Cards are rare at the stalls.
- Go hungry and graze. Portions are small by design so you can try more.
- Follow the queues. A long local line is the best review there is.
